MESSAGE: What is the Gospel?
The Good News is that we can be a part of God’s creation that lasts forever.
Moving from Heaven to New Life
Part 4 of our Message
- Commencement: The Gospel is much bigger than going to Heaven.
- Not Heaven: Jesus never proclaimed going to Heaven as the good news of the Gospel.
- Eternal Life: Living forever is not just a destination we wait for, but allows us to live in it’s reality now.
- Proportionate: Our interest and involvement in the Gospel is proportionate to its size in our eyes.
- Cultivation: The Cross, Resurrection and Ascension provide an active hope where we find freedom from fear.
- Bigger: Understanding Jesus’ resurrection reveals what's bigger than Heaven.
- Now: Once we understand the ending, we live now in freedom.
- Freedom: Understanding the Resurrection can kill our largest fear, death.
- Conflict: New life can be lived now as waiting for later.
- No wait: We don’t have to wait until later to find new life.
- Cooperation: No matter who we are, God wants to work in and through us.
- Grow: Instead of waiting, we can grow into the example of Jesus.
- Culmination: The Gospel is Jesus is King and is restoring His creation, that we can be apart of which lasts forever.
- Creation: Jesus’ mission was and is restoration of His creation, that will be finalized in the New Heaven and New Earth.
- Inaugurated: Jesus’s mission is the Good News that is specifically that the Jesus inaugurated the Kingdom of God.
- Go time: Instead of waiting for God’s will to be done, we work with God to bring it now.
