PRIORITY: What is most important to us?
Our focus and priorities flow from the heart of God.
Moving from Concentrated to Caring.
Part 1 of our Priority
- Commencement: Focusing on yourself can be a good start, but not the end. (Maslow Hierarchy of Needs)
- Self: Survival and Safety.
- Relationship: Love and Esteem.
- Purpose: Drive and Altruism.
- Cultivation: How understanding blessings in the Kingdom of God helps us.
- Word: Blessing in OT and Israel.
- Never things: Blessing in the NT is never material, but the opposite.
- Relationship:Blessing in Kingdom of God is about relationship.
- Who should we be caring about?
- Oppressed: Copying the heart of Jesus and the core message of the Gospel, we should seek to care for those oppressed. (Refugees/Palestine)
- Hurting: In the way of Jesus, not only can we come alongside the hurting, but we can gain perspective by hearing their stories. (Oppressed/ Marginalized)
- Needy: The world is always watching and should be very aware our actions speak louder than words. (Adoption/Foster/Poor/ Homeless)
- Culmination: Viewing the larger vision should motivate us.
- Vision: What vision captivates our money, time, resources, energy, passion?
- Outweigh: When our excitement of the bigger Gospel outweighs our fear or complacency we have the proper motivation.
- Instead of our thoughts centering on ourselves, our desire stems from Jesus towards others, out of desire, not out of guilt or legalism.
